Betty was born December 4, 1929 in Floydada, Texas, the only child of F. O. Bryant and Rene Garner Bryant. She moved with her parents to the Castleberry area of Fort Worth at an early age, attending elementary school there. She graduated from North Side High School in 1947 and while there, she met J. E. Box. They were married December 7, 1947 and celebrated 67 years of marriage. She and J.E. lived most of these 67 years in the Fort Worth area.
Betty worked in the accounting department at Pan American Petroleum Company and then spent a number of years at General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) before leaving to work with her husband in the shipping business. In later years she became a passionate quilter and loved sitting down to her quilting. She had quilting squares to last for years.
Betty accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age at Castleberry Baptist Church. Christianity was certainly the guide for the remainder of her life and was so exhibited in the way she lived her life. She and J.E. have been members at North Richland Hills Baptist Church since 1965. Betty accumulated many friends over her life and she held each one of them special; likewise, she was loved and respected by those who knew her. She will be remembered dearly as a loving friend by scores of people.
Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacey Diane Box, in 1986.
SURVIVORS: Left to remember Betty is her husband of 67 years, J.E. Box; son, Randy, and wife, Karen; and a very special friend, Ann Meek; cousins and a host of friends.
