

Beverly Francis du Menil Davydiuk, age 95, died on Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1921 and moved to Hollywood, California when she married John M. Davydiuk in 1939. She was a cradle born Catholic and remained constant in her faith all her life.
At her request, there will be a small graveside service.

Beverly was a career federal and civil service employee. She worked with the Army in Texas, the Navy and the Veterans Administration in California, Human Resources Research Center’s General Accounting Office in San Antonio and the Internal Revenue Service in Dallas. She retired as a Management Analyst with 32 years of service.
Beverly and her husband had their first home built in the Foothills of Burbank, California. Their daughter Rhenetta was born in 1940. Later they returned to Texas and had a home built on acreage in San Antonio. Then they moved into a new home in Dallas and to Grapevine where they purchased a townhouse. After her husband’s death in 1985, she had a home built in Bedford and lived there until her 2005 when she moved to Burleson to be near her granddaughter Denise Reiling, husband, Ron and great grandson Davis. The Reiling’s owned and operated Reiling Ranch Alpacas. Beverly became interested in Alpacas and began her own herd. She enjoyed the alpaca shows and seeing the Reilings show her alpacas. In 2011 she had a log cabin built on the Reiling Ranch.
Beverly was very active in civic functions. She served in many volunteer efforts including; past president and member of Grapevine friends of the library; lay representative for North Texas Library System; Director, Library Board of Trustees in Grapevine. In Bedford she served on the Senior Citizens Board, volunteered at Northeast Community Hospital and was an active volunteer at St. Michaels Catholic Church. There she served as a wedding minister, communion minister, and several other activities like the Bazaar workshop. She was active with two women’s clubs and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She and her husband travelled considerably. Together they would visit Canada, Mexico and Europe. After his death she became a world traveler and visited Japan, China, India, Tahiti, South America, the Caribbean Islands, Alaska, Costa Rica, Morocco, Turkey, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Haiti, Thailand, American Samoa, Tonga, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong, and Singapore. She cruised on a transatlantic crossing and a Pacific crossing. In her life, she went on over 80 cruises. Some of her favorite memories of her travels include, visiting Pope John XXII at Castel Gondolfo, walking along the Great Wall of China, Riding Elephants in India and a helicopter ride in Alaska. She had many other hobbies including collecting and dancing but cruises were her favorite.
Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Loyce West du Menil; husband and best friend John M. Davydiuk; brother, Arthur du Menil, Jr.; sister’s Yvonne Murray, Loyce Culbertson, and Marian Hartman; sister in law, Dorothy du Menil, and nephew, Richard Culbertson.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhenetta Patterson and husband David; grandchildren, Denise Reiling and husband Ronald, Paul Patterson, Joseph Patterson and wife Susanna, and Camille Petty and husband David. Beverly was blessed with three great grandchildren, Davis Reiling, and Sherilyn and John Patterson. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Guy Murray, nephews Major Joseph du Menil, Patrick Murray, John du Menil, and Richard Egli; and nieces Cynthia Page and Mary Ann Graham.
