She was born in Waynesboro, PA on October 1, 1957. During her earliest years she lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains, prior to moving to the Dayton, Ohio area. She attended Oakwood Schools, graduating from Oakwood High School in 1975. Carolyn received her bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Telecommunications Management from DeVry Institute of Technology.
She was married to Dale Badura until his passing in 2012. When they moved to Fort Worth, both worked for GTE where Carolyn worked in Configuration Management and as a Systems Engineer. She then worked for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center—Grapevine in Access Services.
Carolyn faced lifelong kidney challenges but was a fighter who loved life and beat many odds. Carolyn and Dale loved playing baseball/softball and were on competitive teams. She and Dale especially loved spending time in Roswell, NM, riding their four-wheelers as a favorite getaway. One of her favorite movies was “Mama Mia”. She and her Texas Mom, Harriet, danced and sang throughout the show. Meeting friends, going out to eat and having fun were her favorite pastimes. Throughout her life she rescued dogs and cats and gave them a safe home where she could spoil them. Her “Fur Babies” were her kids! “Pee Wee” loved going back to the Blue Ridge Mountains and visiting family in Pennsylvania. She had a big heart, always thinking about family and friends, especially when someone needed support or a lift. Everyone who knew Carolyn has a favorite memory and crazy story. She was the person who made hard days easier and the good days even better.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Evelyn Jarrett, and her husband Dale Badura. She is survived by her siblings Catherine Knoop (Paul), Marjorie Williams, Boyd Jarrett (Karen), Harry Jarrett, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Carolyn will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034.
