

Charisse Tan Mason, known to many as Cha, passed away on March 15, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 38. She was a beloved member of her community, leaving behind family, friends, and colleagues who will deeply miss her.
Charisse was born on October 25, 1984, in Manila, Philippines, and was baptized under the Catholic faith. She attended Angelicum College, a Catholic school, from grade school to high school before moving with her family to the United States on April 19th, 2000. She was an excellent student and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Lab Science from Texas Women’s University, followed by a graduate degree in Molecular Biology from the University of North Texas. Charisse worked at Cook Children’s Medical Center for 15 years, where she made many friends and was respected for her dedication to her work.
In high school, Charisse was inducted into the National Honor Society and was recognized for her academic achievements. She went on to attend Texas Women’s University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Lab Science. Charisse's passion for science led her to pursue a graduate degree in Molecular Biology at the University of North Texas.
After completing her studies, Charisse began working at Cook Children’s Medical Center, where she quickly became respected for her dedication and hard work. Charisse had a curious and creative mind and found joy in reading, planning events, doing arts and crafts, listening to music, and writing poetry. She also loved traveling and exploring new places. One of her favorite destinations was New York City, which she visited as often as she could.
Charisse met her husband, William Mason, in March 2013, and they fell in love. They shared a love for exploring new places and making memories together. Charisse always dreamed of visiting China and Japan, and in 2016, she and William made that dream a reality. They traveled to both countries, taking in the sights, sounds, and cultures.
Charisse was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and passion for giving back to her community. She often participated in charity events such as Habitat for Humanity, Fun Runs, March of Dimes, and Color Run. She also cherished her furry friend, Coco, a dog who brought her endless joy.
Sadly, on March 15, 2023, Charisse passed away at the young age of 38, leaving behind a loving family, devoted friends, and a grateful community. Her life may have been short, but it was filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Charisse will be remembered for her kind heart, adventurous spirit, and passion for life. Her memory will live on through the love she shared with those around her and the impact she made on her community.
A visitation for Charisse will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, Texas 76034. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, Texas 76034. A burial will occur Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, Texas 76034.
