Charles was born in 1938 to Page and Eunice Hanes in Mount Pleasant. He served our country in the United States Army for two years and worked for Lenox Industries for 28 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Page and Eunice Hanes; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Venice Amerson; nephew, Troy Amerson; and sister-in-law, Kay Amerson.
Survivors: Charles is survived by his wife of 56 1/2 years, Ann; sister-in-law, Elaine Chitwood; and brothers-in-law, Fred Amerson and wife, Mitsu, William Amerson and wife, Lynn and Jimmie Amerson. He is also survived by five nieces and three nephews, whom he loved and treated as his own.
