Christine Marie Widacki Royal, 89, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Bedford, Texas. Her service will be held Saturday, June 9 at Bluebonnet Hills in Colleyville, Texas. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. followed immediately by the graveside service. A reception will follow in the Bluebonnet Family Lounge.

Christine was born on February 21, 1929 in Tidwell Prairie, Texas to Josephine Bartula and Theodore Widacki. She was the fourth of five children and grew up on the family's farm. She graduated from Bremond High School where she was a Majorette and on the girls' basketball team. Her senior year, she was the Class Reporter and the Senior Class School Queen nominee.
Christine married Raymond Royal in 1952 and were married for over 65 years. They were charter members of St. Michael Catholic Church in Bedford, where she was a volunteer and they were both active as Eucharistic ministers. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond Royal, siblings Monsignor Roman Widacki, Florianna Osborne, and Frank Widacki. She is survived by sibling, Sister Helen Widacki (Felician Order of Sisters) of Rio Rancho, N.M.; children, Cindy Caloss (Ron), Kit Bolte and Ray Royal, Jr. (Kathleen); grandchildren, Jeff Rutledge, Ashley Snider (Drew), Matthew Royal, Zachary Royal, Jessica Bolte and Jennifer Bolte; great-grandson, Bradley Eden; great-granddaughters, Kennedy Snider and Avery Royal; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are her grandsons Jeff Rutledge, Matthew and Zachary Royal and Godchild Christopher Burch.
