Christopher Miguel Guerra passed away on June 25th, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson, and most importantly a cherished friend to so many that were lucky enough to know him. He was born on January 16th, 2002 in Memphis, Tennessee to Rebecca and Luis Guerra.
Chris had a huge love for soccer. Whether playing soccer, watching soccer, or even soccer trash-talking with his friends, the passion he had for the sport was undeniable. Throughout Chris’ life, he lived in 8 different states and learned as the new kid, he needed to make friends quickly, and to shine in any room he walked into. His outgoing and authentic personality allowed him to touch so many lives and make strong friendships everywhere he went. Know that he considered those friends his “Family”. Chris loved his family and enjoyed many family traditions like watching Christmas classics every Christmas Eve while dressed like Buddy the Elf, to eating abuela’s flan on Thanksgiving with his cousins. Chris was at his happiest being adventurous while traveling with family and friends, both in the U.S. and abroad.
Chris was a graduate of Barrington High School in Barrington, Illinois, where he became determined on being a physical therapist after an injury playing soccer. Chris was a proud student at Michigan State University studying Kinesiology for his undergraduate degree. During his four years as a Spartan, he developed a close bond with friends that we are forever grateful for, which helped him through his battle with cancer.
Chris is survived by his parents, Luis and Rebecca Guerra, his brother Tony, his sister Kayla, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents that he was so close with. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents Trinidad and Migdilio Guerra.
