

Reverend David Glen Loeffler, of North Richland Hills, Texas fell asleep in Jesus on August 14, 2024. He is now in the eternal presence of God the Holy Trinity. He was born on September 3, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to Henry and Marie (Schroeder) Loeffler. Reverend Loeffler was first a mathematics professor for 17 years before being Called by the Holy Spirit and trained to become an ordained minister of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He earned his Master of Divinity degree at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri. During a span of 40 years’ service in the ministry, he served at Grace Lutheran Church, San Marcos, Cross Lutheran Church, New Braunfels, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant and St. John Lutheran Church, Clarksville, Zion Lutheran Church, Watauga, and Trinity Lutheran Church, Dime Box, all in Texas.
The funeral service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, Keller, Texas on Monday, August 19th, at 2:00 pm, with Reverend Thomas Chryst officiating. Family and guests will meet following the funeral service for a light reception held at the church. Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio, Texas on August 22 at 11:00am.
David was preceded in death by his wife Sharon and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (with her husband Norman Preston), his son David Christian (with his wife Monica), his brother Kenneth Loeffler, his grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Though we mourn because of David's death, we take comfort from the truth that he was saved for everlasting, resurrected life by God's grace, through the blood and righteousness of our Lord Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory forever!
His family has asked that any memorials given in his memory be directed to: Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO, Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN, and Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy, Keller, TX.
