He was born in Anson, Texas on July 21st, 1935 to Bill and Addie Mae Kelley. After graduating from high school, Don served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was married to Carolyn Kelley on March 29th, 1958. Don worked in aircraft maintenance for 42 years. He was a member of Cross City Church in Euless since 1959. He spent many years as a volunteer with Camp of the Hills and 6 Stones. Don and Carolyn enjoyed traveling with friends.
He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Diane Kelley Karl. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carolyn Kelley; his daughter, Donna Kelley Osborn and her husband, Tim; and son-in law, Monty Karl. Don is also survived by grandsons Nathan Karl, Andrew Karl and Erik Osborn; granddaughters Kelli Teater and Jocelynn Bernal; and great-grandchildren Sean, Kylie, Sophia, Rylin and Silas.
Don's Celebration of Life will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, Texas on Saturday, August 31st, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. A graveside service will be held at the DFW National Cemetery at a later date.
The family requests donations be made to 6 Stones or Cross City Church in lieu of flowers.
