Dorothy Coker Hill, 95, passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015. Service: 10 a.m. Thursday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow in the park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Dorothy was born June 30, 1920, in Alabama, the fifth of 11 siblings to Augusta Cobb Coker and Omie Florence Holcombe Coker. At the age of 9, her family moved to Fort Worth where she lived and graduated from North Side High School, married and raised her family. She married Drury Glen Hill and had two children, Glenda Faye and Jimmy Lee. When Glen went to serve our country in 1943, Dorothy raised her two children and went to work at Convair, later General Dynamics and now Lockheed Martin. She was a strong, hardworking, respected woman who became the first woman to be promoted to a supervisory position. Dorothy and Glen retired together after working a combined 87 years at General Dynamics and Bell Helicopter. They traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad. Dorothy is known as Nanny to her family who she taught strong morals, ethics and the love of life. Family always came first to Nanny. Her positive attitude and her beautiful smile were infectious to everyone with whom she came in contact. Certainly heaven must have needed and received a bright new star, but it has left an empty void on earth. We will miss her dearly. Survivors: Daughter, Glenda Clark (Larry); son, Jimmy Hill (Joyce); sisters, Beverly McKinney, Gwen Grady and Carolyn Fleming; six grandchildren - Lori Little, Cheryl Kirkley, Christopher Cordts, Joni Robertson, Lucretia Price, and Susie Sessum; eleven great-grandchildren - Nickolas Shaver, Zachary Little, Whitney Little, Bailey Robertson, Jessie Cordts, Jace Cordts, Jared Cordts, Sasha Sessum, Jeb Sessum, Eathan Price and Nathan Price. Also left to cherish her memories are many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
