A Time to Be Born:
Earl Anthony Brown Jr. was born September 9, 1938, to Earl Anthony Brown Sr. and Sylester Spearman-Brown in Greenwich, Connecticut.
A Time to Plant:
At an early age Earl began his walk with the Lord at Shiloh Christian Congregation church in Fayetteville, North Carolina. From there he attended St. Francis AME Zion Church in Port Chester, New York.
He continued his faith journey at St. Catherine AME before relocating his membership to St. Thomas AME Zion Church in Norfolk, Virginia, where he sang in the Male Choir and faithfully served as a Trustee. Earl supported the church in every way possible from repairs to helping chair committees that would help make sure the church was viable; always willing to serve wherever there was a need.
When his health declined and he relocated to Texas, he fellowshipped at Carter Metropolitan CME Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
Earl was a proud graduate of Port Chester High School in Port Chester, New York, class of 1957.
Earl worked for United Parcel Services (UPS) and retired after 25 years of service. After retirement, Earl embarked on an entrepreneurial journey. In 1980, he purchased the first of two multi-family apartment buildings in New Rochelle and Yonkers, New York. One of his proudest achievements was making the Construction and Realty Industries Yearbook in 1988. He also founded Tony’s Roofing.

On May 12, 1994, Earl married his “Southern Rose,” as he affectionately called her — Rosie M. Minor White Brown. Through this union, he gained four bonus children: Makela White, Kevin White, Kenya White-Sanford, and Kimberly White-Brookins.
Earl enjoyed traveling and gardening. He took pride in having the best yard and Christmas decorations, even earning “Yard of the Month” while residing in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He and Rosie traveled to several countries such as Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and his favorite destination of all, Italy. They also visited numerous states across the United States.
He loved cooking, preparing beautiful salads, hearty soups and stews, and his famous spaghetti sauce. Earl enjoyed dancing and bowling, winning several bowling trophies. Always eager to grow, he embraced technology and took several computer classes as times changed.
