

He was born on July 12,1935 in Johnson City, NY to Anthony & Velma Flamik. Ed graduated Central High School of Binghamton, NY and then went on to become a member of the National Guard where he joined the Army and served in Germany. After the Army, Ed worked for Air Canada in Chicago where he met and married his wife Joanne on November 19, 1960.
In 1965 they moved to Texas where they raised 4 children. He was known for telling stories, writing Prayer cards, doing magic for his grandkids and his love for people. Ed’s love for his family was endless, as was his strong faith and devotion.
Ed was preceded in death by parents Anthony & Vilma Flamik, a brother Ernest, infant daughter Aimee Jo, and son Kevin.
Ed is survived by wife of 59 years Joanne; sons Darren and his wife Stacey, and Randal and his wife Michelle; daughter, Melanie Owston; Grandchildren Milissa, Courtney McCray and husband Levi, Nathan, Jessica, Abby, Katy and John; Along with greatgrandchildren, Victoria, Zavan, and Bryar.
The visitation will be held from 4:30 – 6 o’clock p.m. on September 24th at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral home in Colleyville, TX. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 25th at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Semper Fi & America’s Fund which is an organization for wounded warriors.
