Emogene Huffaker Spivey, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, in Euless, Texas. Born on August 13, 1934, in Howe, Texas, Emogene lived a life marked by deep faith, always enduring love for her family.
A devoted follower of Christ, Emogene’s life was a testament to grace and compassion. She found joy in helping those around her and drew strength from her unwavering belief in God’s promises. Her faith was not only a personal anchor but also a guiding light that touched the lives of many. Those who knew her were blessed by her warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit.
Sundays were sacred — not just for church and family time, but for cheering on her Cowboys. Win or lose, she wore her blue and silver with pride and cheered like they could hear her right through the TV. Meme loved to ring that bell when her Cowboys scored.
Emogene was a loving mother to her children: Karen McConnell; Randy Spivey and his wife Lenette; and Susan Fitzhugh. She was also a proud grandmother to Dennis, Josh, Mandi, Ashley, Allison, Matthew, Hilary, Kendra, Shannon—and many great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy throughout the years.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband Earnest Spivey; her daughter Sheila Falco; her granddaughter Kristen and her son in laws- Marshall (Mac) McConnell and Eddie Fitzhugh. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who continue to cherish Emogene’s legacy.
Her roles as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend were filled with devotion and care. She offered strength in times of hardship and celebrated life’s joys with open arms. Her kindness left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A funeral service honoring Emogenes life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Airport Freeway Church of Christ located at 210 Airport Freeway in Euless, Texas.
While our hearts grieve her absence here on earth, we rejoice knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior. May her memory bring comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
