

Evangeline "Eva" Gonzalez was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Eva will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Eva was born on December 19, 1928 in Gregory, Texas. She was the daughter of Manuel and Romana Quintanilla. She cherished her upbringing in a large and loving family growing up in Corpus Christi.
In 1951 Eva exchanged wedding vows with Rudolph Gonzalez. They were married for 52 years
Eva worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Eva was blessed with six children, three sons, Rudolph, Michael, Eugene and three daughters, Laura, Christine, and Helen. Her greatest legacy is that she raised all her children up in that church and introduced them all to Christ. Another blessing for Eva was the gift of 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Eva and Rudy moved to Euless, Texas in 1960. The times spent in the Euless house of Rudy and Eva were times filled with joy, great food, lots of laughter, good advice, caring and understanding, and rest and relaxation. It was truly home to anyone who spent time there.
Eva enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. She loved music, reading, quilting, doll making, cooking, and her family.
Eva’s faith was important to her. Eva was a 40+ year member of First Baptist Church Euless.
Eva passed away on November 7, 2016 in Euless, Texas. She was always smiling and determined unto the end, even though she had fought a long hard battle with Alzheimer’s. Eva is survived by her sons: Rudolph Gonzalez, Jr (Alexandra), Michael Gonzalez (Robin), Eugene Gonzalez (Chris); daughters: Laura Wilcox (Robert), Christine Rea (Robert), and Helen Klopfenstine (Barron); 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her brother Manuel Quintanilla of Corpus Christi. Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Euless, Texas. Evangeline was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
She loved her brothers and sisters and all her extended family. Most of all, she loved her husband, Rudy. Even as the difficult disease of dementia took hold and later as her physical health began to fail her, Eva still found a way to laugh and to be a joy to those around her. Her life revolved around her family and as a result they loved her dearly and she will be truly missed.
