What does someone call a man who has giggled with you, hugged you, teased you, tickled you, annoyed you?  Well, for me, I've always had the joy of calling him Uncle Morris.  In so many ways I have been amazed by him.  He could take pieces of apparent junk and turn it into a beautiful vehicle, a magician. He had a chore, he finished it.  He truly had a beautiful mind. It was my joy in childhood to spend every summer with my Mamaw & Papaw and that gave me access to uncle Morris.  I saw the teasing between him and his big sister, Geraldine.  I saw the love.  It's a lesson I learned with my eyes and ears. I know my Dad thought of him as a little brother. I often called him my favorite uncle and he would sorta snort.  If he wasn't sure then, I hope the Angels have convinced him! I saw strength I never knew existed when Morris and Helen, as well as  Steve had to say goodbye to their precious Glenda after her courageous battle with cancer.  Morris and his family are so magnetic that Glenda's widower, Paul still visits them and he will forever be their son-in-law forever.   Goodbye my sweet Uncle.  Love and open arms to Helen and Steve.  We are family forever and I give thanks to God for giving us his life to share because even though we have to say goodby, we will see him again.  I love you forever, Uncle Morris.

My deepest sympathy for Helen and Steve.  Morris was always so funny and kind to me.  I loved visiting with him as a child and as an adult.  Morris will be greatly missed by so many, as he touched so many lives.  Helen and Steve, please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Rest in peace Morris, you will be missed. Helen & Steve what wonderful memories you have. What a great guy.

So many things about Morris have danced around in my mind in the last few days.One thing was about how patient he was, I have never seen him mad or angry with anyone.  I can still see the tears swelling in his eyes when his first child was born.  He loved spending the afternoons with Steve teaching him how to work on cars. My favorite is the time we all went crabbing & a crab claw latched on to Don's finger, he called for  Morris to help & the crab took a good hold on  Don's other hand.  Morris just stood there laughing harder than I'd ever seen before and making sure everybody else watched Don trying to get the crab loose.  I have so many fond memories.  You're in my thoughts & prayers.  Gerri

It is so hard to put into words of how very sorry I am for the loss of Uncle Morris. I am grateful that my childhood memories include him and his sense of humor. You never knew what he might do next (or to whom), but you could see him thinking through that brilliant plan in his sweet, sparkling eyes. Helen and Steve, I am so sorry for your loss. His humor will truly be missed. I will always remember him asking me all the time if I ever brushed my hair. And back in the day when I would come over to get Glenda he would always tell me it looked like I was wearing my underwear. You could always count on Morris to be funny. He will truly be missed.
