

Garry Lunsford was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Garry will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Carl and Lillian Lunsford.
Garry was raised with four sisters, Rene, Liz, Nancy, and Susie. Garry was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his sisters. He and his sisters experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
Empathic and loyal, Garry was committed to making his new family happy.
Garry worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Garry was blessed with three daughters, Leslie, Amy, and Sacha. Another blessing for Garry was the gift of three grandchildren, Wyatt, Addison, and Hadley.
Fortunately, Garry enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Garry worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. He was employed for 44 years in the automotive retail/wholesale industry. Garry always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Garry was an U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He proudly served his country from 1967 to 1971 serving in two tours during the Vietnam War. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Garry enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. He loved the sun, especially around water. Garry had a green thumb; he was able to grow a tropical oasis in his back yard. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Garry enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. He was a world traveler; his favorite place was the beach.
Garry passed away on June 13, 2016 at Texas Health HEB Hospital in Bedford, Texas. He is survived by beloved wife of 26 years Janet Lunsford, daughters; Leslie (Loyd) Berger, Amy (Greg) Spivey and Sacha West, grandchildren; Wyatt, Addison and Hadley, sisters; Rene Wells, Liz Adkins, Nancy Kirkham and Susie (Charley) Scott, 6 nieces, 1 nephew, and a host of extended family and friends.
Simply stated, Garry was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Garry leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Garry Lunsford.

Garry Lunsford passed away June 13, 2016 surrounded by his family. Garry was born on April 30, 1950 to Carl and Lillian Lunsford in Ironton, Ohio. Garry spent 44 years in the automotive retail/wholesale industry. He loved the sun, especially around water. Garry had a green thumb; he was able to grow a tropical oasis in his back yard. He was a world traveler; his favorite place was the beach. From 67-71 Garry proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served two tours in the Vietnam War. But most importantly he loved being a grandfather. Garry is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: beloved wife of 26 years Janet Lunsford, daughters; Leslie (Loyd) Berger, Amy (Greg) Spivey and Sacha West, grandchildren; Wyatt, Addison and Hadley, sisters; Rene Wells, Liz Adkins, Nancy Kirkham and Susie (Charley) Scott, 6 nieces, 1 nephew, and a host of extended family and friends.
