

Glenn E. Johnson of Bedford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. He was 86 years of age. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 3, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Glenn was born on Jan. 19, 1930, in Perryton to Roy and Bonnie Johnson. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1947 and later attended the University of Oklahoma until 1949. Soon, thereafter, he married the love of his life, Doris Mae Allred. He later worked as a U.S. Post Office letter carrier until 1955 in Perryton and left to pursue his career as a draftsman and continued his education at the University of Texas at Arlington until 1958. He was later an employee of Bell Helicopter Company of Fort Worth for 20 years, which opened doors for his move to Southwest Compressor of Fort Worth, where he served as president from January 1975 to April 1986 when the company sold. In 1988 he ventured with his wife as they purchased Texoma Grocery in Kingston, Okla. Glenn later continued to pursue his career as a draft engineer and was an employee of Oklahoma Wire and Steel in Madill, Okla., where he designed machines for their production plant. Glenn, a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, will be dearly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Johnson; parents; brothers, Earl Johnson and Bill Johnson; sister, Joan Wolfrum; and granddaughter, Megan Baab. Survivors: Left to cherish Glenn's memory are his children, Randy Johnson, Jodi Johnson Sanders and husband, Mark, and Kevin Johnson and wife, Marcy; brothers, Ron Johnson, Don Johnson and Tommy Johnson; sister, Linda Johnson; grandchildren, Guy Sanders, Hope Sanders, Amber Sanders Knight, Megan Johnson, Megan Baab, Morgan Baab, Mackenzie Yates, Hunter Johnson and Randy Johnson II; great-grandchildren, Avery, Helen, Star, Henry, Reagan, Liam and Kennedy; and numerous other relatives and friends.
