Mr. Granvel L. Speck Jr.

Granvel was born in Hannibal, MO on June 25, 1944. He served six years in the Air Force. Granvel was a loyal employee at Stone Container for over 40 years where he started on the plant floor and worked his way up to being a scheduler for the company.

Granvel was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Granvel was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending the day on the golf course with his friends. He had a knack for gardening and was very proud of his flowers. G.L.’s yard was often the envy of the neighborhood. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren play in his backyard. Their rambunctious happiness gave him great contentment. Granvel will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Granvel is survived by his wife, Brenda Speck; his children, Michelle Plata and Greg Speck; their spouses, Michael Plata and Ginger Speck; his siblings; Dennis Speck, George Speck and Deanna Coppedge; and his grandchildren, Rylan Greene, Gehrig Speck, Grace Speck, Gavin Speck, Gabriel Speck, Graham Speck and Gannon Speck. He is predeceased by his parents, Granvel Lewis Speck Sr. and Mary Eleanor Speck.

A visitation for Granvel will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 COLLEYVILLE BLVD, COLLEYVILLE, TX 76034. A Celebration of Life will occur Friday, January 6, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 5725 COLLEYVILLE BLVD, COLLEYVILLE, TX 76034. A burial with USAF military honors will occur Friday, January 6, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 COLLEYVILLE BLVD, COLLEYVILLE, TX 76034.
