My favorite picture of Uncle Jack next to his hobbit door. On every call he answered, “Baggins here!”  I wish I could watch all of the videos with him one more time. After being estranged for many years and visiting Uncle Jack, I asked him what are some of the greatest achievements in your life. He shared many things like, “Being married to “Mouse all these years, I was most blessed”. Having a son that I am so proud of who works so hard, which I am also proud. Grateful to the college professor that made me read the story of the Hobbits. As the Tales of the Hobbits would not only change my life but many of the lives in which I had set the “moon crooked”. I went to church to try to make my life right but didn’t feel like I belonged there. I opened the good book and read it from cover to cover twice and both times while reading it I realized that God’s word was a lot like the story of the Hobbits. Why? In the Bible you have good.  The Hobbits are a good people, mischievous, but really goodhearted people. God,Jesus & Holy Spirit.
Then you’ve got evil, like the Orcs and such, who want to steal, kill, destroy and even eat you alive!
Then you’ve got Smeagol who’s all about I/me & my.”  He then asked me, “Now Kris, can you tell me if there is anything more that I might be missing out of the Bible other than good, evil, and Smeagol?” Uncle Jack proceeded to tell me how there were forty men he personally felt responsible for leading down the wrong path, “set their moon crooked”. Out of those forty men, Uncle Jack, one by one, purchased them a book and one by one he brought 39 of the 40, “There and back again” through the story of the hobbits w/GOD. When they finished the program, Aunt Linda made several, a ceramic figurine, that it may be a memorial- a remembrance, just like in the Old Testament to remind, “don’t go back there.” I pray this Hobbit story touches you as it has me- how GOD used Uncle Jack and Aunt Linda to help others, in their time of  need. (What a Team)

Jack was a dear friend to all our family. We cherish the many memories of travel and fun times together. In our time of loss, his kindness, support, and generosity was unmatched. 

Jack always greeted you with a smile and something funny to say. 
I was blessed to know him and will remember him always with love. 

Jack was always fun to be with. He was forever good natured and able to to accept a joke played on him in the spirit it was given. 

He endured his many friends practical jokes with a calm demeaner knowing he was appreciated by all who knew him. Those who worked closely with him may remember the "Jack Lester Appreciation" get together, his "Batman" costume, and the special clothes rack and locker that he was honored with. 

He took it all in stride with a grace few men of his stature would have stood for. He will be sorely missed, but long remembered as a true friend.

Jack and Linda were next door neighbors.

Jack would do anything the help and went well beyond, with a smile and a joke to go with it!
He will be missed but always remember.
