

James was born on April 25, 1967 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the son of J.W. and Norma Cheever.
James was raised with three sisters. Paula, Katherine, Karla and one brother, Stephen. James was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings shared many life experiences over the years.
He graduated from Richland High School in North Richland Hills, Texas.
James worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. James was blessed with three daughters, Kiera, Shaina, and Kagen and two step-children, Courtney and Wesley. Another blessing for James was the gift of four grandchildren, Andrew, Nina, Bentlie, and Trinitie.
Fortunately, James enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, James worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. James worked for TU Electric, Oncor, and Carter-Burgess.
James was a talented portrait artist, a versatile musician, an industrious home improver and a meticulous lawn care specialist.
James found pleasure in sports. He was an avid baseball fan.
James was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. He had three beloved dogs, Duke, Cooper, and Hank.
James passed away on November 4, 2016 at his residence in Arlington, Texas. James is survived by his wife, Linda Alphin; mother, Norma Cheever; sisters, Paula Glover (Joe), Katherine Larson (Steve) and Karla Defibaugh (Dave); brother, Stephen Cheever (Myra); children, Kiera Mize (Zane), Shaina Cheever and Kagen Cheever; stepchildren, Courtney Moore and Wesley Alphin; grandchildren, Andrew, Nina, Bentlie and Trinitie; and 10 nieces and nephews. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas.
James was an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. James leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember James Wilbur Cheever III.
