With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeffrey Dane Clark, 71, of Irving (Las Colinas), TX. He passed away on Sunday, August 11, after a 4-year battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Jeff was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 12, 1953. He had a knack for numbers, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi with a B.B.A., a degree focusing on management & finance. During his career, Jeff worked for Gulf Oil Corporation (now Chevron), Fluor Daniel Inc. (a Fortune 500 engineering firm), Cadbury Schweppes (Dr. Pepper Bottling Company), and other private corporations. He held positions including Chief Financial Officer, Controller, Treasurer, and IT Manager.
Jeff loved his work, but family was his real passion. He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Kosarek, on June 9, 1973. They were blessed to have two children, and were recently lucky enough to celebrate their 51st anniversary. Over the years, he enjoyed taking the family on fun vacations, meticulously wrapping presents and decorating the house with Christmas lights, and making sure everyone had the latest iPhone.
Aside from work and family, Jeff enjoyed cars (his first was a green 1967 Mustang), the Dallas Cowboys, and was passionate about the Dallas Stars. Of late, he loved playing dominoes and watching movies with his wife.
Jeff was a believer that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior, and we know he’s upstairs now, probably making sure that Heaven has adequate wifi coverage.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Karen; son Nicholas (Grace Barcenas) Clark, Brooklyn, NY; daughter Dr. Andrea Clark, Hollywood, FL; brother Randall (Sharon) Clark; sister Dana (Mike) Espinoza; grandchildren Austin and Julian Clark; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Joe Clark, Jr.; mother Patricia Brockus Clark Powers; stepfather Arnett Powers, Sr.; paternal grandparents Joe (Willie Johnson) Clark, Sr.; maternal grandparents Gladys Brockus Turley; Russell Brockus; maternal step-grandfather Vernon Turley; and half-brother Arnett Powers, III
