Born in Yonkers, New York in 1953, she grew up alongside the Atlantic in Vero Beach, Florida. Throughout her childhood in Florida, when not sitting on a horse's back, Jennie gravitated to the ocean with her brother and sister scuba diving, sail boating, and searching for coquina shells along the shore.
Her primary passion was always horses, a love supported and bolstered by her mother who was also an avid horsewoman. She spent countless hours riding and learning as much as she could about the care, feeding, and training of horses. Starting in Western, jumping and hunter disciplines once her eyes were opened to the world of Dressage her passion found its roots. Jennie loved to share the art of Dressage with others. She was always ready for a road trip with friends to train with renowned clinicians. Jennie also served as an officer and past president of the Dallas Dressage Club. An avid gardener, when cancer stole her ability to continue riding, she turned to her gardens to caring for many beautiful and exotic varieties. She was fond of saying, "When you can't ride, grow flowers."
Jennie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Houston Baptist University and worked in the Information Technology industry as a mainframe systems programmer for Exxon Chemical, The Trane Company and IBM Corporation.
Jennie is remembered with love by her partner and soul mate Tim Raley, her younger sister Jessica Bohart, nephews Gregory Heath VanDyke and Clayton James Bohart, dearest friends Pauline Jaroszewicz, Elinda McKenna, Carla Pack, and her beloved dogs Annabel and Simon. She was preceded in death by her father James Gregory Bohart, mother Shirley Lee Bohart and brother James Gregory Bohart.
Our extended family would be honored if you choose to remember Jennie with flowers, a donation to your favorite charity, Amy's Wish With Wings, Southlake, Texas or Blue Ribbon Meadows Equestrian Center, West Columbia, South Carolina.
