

Services: A funeral service will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Graveside Service will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation: Family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
Johnny, as he was loving known, was born in Portales, New Mexico and raised in Hereford, Texas with his nine brothers and sisters. He met his beloved wife of 62 years, Joy, and later married in 1954. The Byers moved to Euless in 1967, where Johnny became an active member of First Baptist Church of Euless. Johnny was a dedicated employee of Merchants Motor Lines for more than 40 years. In his retirement years, he took pleasure in being a school driver for HEB School District. He often enjoyed spending time with his children, and later with his grand and great grandchildren. He was a loving and supportive husband and father, a caring grandfather and great-grandfather and devoted friend. Memorials in Johnny’s name can be made to the First Baptist Church of Euless.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, John and Geneva Byers; siblings, Billy Byers, Carlene Cargo, Dwain Byers, and Bobby Byers.
Left to cherish Johnny’s memory is his wife, Joy Byers; Children, Kala (Tommy) McNeill, Pam Byers, Johnny (Carol) Byers; Grandchildren, Brittni Blevins, Todd McNeill, Landon McNeill, Ashley Byers, Nicole Byers, Garrett Byers; Siblings, Lorene Martin, Lavern Taylor, Ronnie Byers, Pat McKnight; eight Great-Grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
