

Joseph Merrill Youngblood, Jr. was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Joseph will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Joseph and Edith Youngblood. Joseph grew up in Dallas, Texas.
Joseph was raised with one sister, Patricia. Joseph was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
Joseph enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Joseph was able to manage the balancing act. He attended the University of North Texas in Denton, texas.
Empathic and loyal, Joseph was committed to making his new family happy.
Joseph worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Joseph was blessed with two sons, Joseph, and Anthony and two daughters, Tina and Estella. Another blessing for Joseph was the gift of five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Jessica, Joseph, Anthony, Rebecca, Christina, Kirstin, and Elliott.
Fortunately, Joseph enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Joseph worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. President/CEO of Robertson Fleet Service. He was employed for 33 years by Robertson Fleet Service in Dallas, Texas. Joseph always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done. During his career he developed many long and lasting friendships and partners.
Joseph served his country during the Korean War. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Joseph passed away on June 12, 2016 at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. He is survived by His wife, Pat Estella Youngblood; sister, Patricia Gay Youngblood; children, Joseph Merrill “Skip” Youngblood III and wife Laurie Youngblood, Tina Lynn Eaton and husband Chris Eaton, Anthony Coke Youngblood and wife Marla Dee Youngblood, Estella Lee Youngblood-Berger and husband Kent Berger; grandchildren, Jessica Youngblood, Joseph Merrill Youngblood IV, Anthony Youngblood, Rebecca Youngblood-McCarty and husband Steve McCarty, and Christina Rosa Eaton; great grandchildren, Kirstin Ambs and Elliott Masters.
Joe loved all life; including people, cats and dogs. He was a great husband and father and a successful businessman and entrepreneur. Joseph was an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Joseph leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. All that knew Joe found him to be a kind, genuine, honest and fun-loving man.

Joseph Merrill Youngblood Jr. passed away surrounded by his family on June 12, 2016. He was 85 years old. Our Father, Joe, grew up in Dallas. After serving his Country, during the Korean War, he attended the University of North Texas in Denton. While in Denton he met, fell in love, and married Pat Powers. Together he and Pat had four children, five grandchildren, and two great grand children. They were married 62 years. Joe loved all life; including people, cats and dogs. He was a great husband and father and a successful businessman and entrepreneur. Joe retired from his career life after 33 years as President/CEO of Robertson Fleet Service in Dallas. During his career he developed many long and lasting friendships and partners. He was respected and loved by many. All that knew Joe found him to be a kind, genuine, honest and fun-loving man. His parents, Joseph Merrill Youngblood Sr. and Edith Maude Gay Youngblood preceded Joe in death.
