

Ken was born on January 22, 1935 at in Arbela, Texas. He was the son of William and Reber Hinton.
Ken was raised with one sister, Sonja and one brother, Terry. Ken was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings shared many life experiences over the years.
Ken married his first wife, Margaret Ann Crawford, in 1959, with which he had two children, Ken Evan and Laura Ann. In 1989, Ken met and married Laila Ormstad with whom he had one daughter, Shelby.
Ken worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Ken was blessed with two daughters, Laura, Shelby and one son, Ken. Another blessing for Ken was the gift of two grandchildren, Christopher and Margaret and four great-grandchildren.
Fortunately, Ken enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Ken worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. In his youth, Ken worked in the oilfields, and later continued into a lifelong career as an optician. His hard work ethic and dedication showed in his 20 years of work with Southern Optical and later Lee Optical. Later in life, Ken worked with Dart Couriers for 29 years, and was still employed there up to one month before his passing.
He served our country from June of 1955 to May of 1958 with the United States Army.
During his free time, Ken enjoyed the outdoors, spending time hunting, fishing and camping. Animals and pets were always plentiful in the Hinton household. His biggest joy though, was spending time with his family and those he loved.
Ken always showed a love and talent for sports, but his true passion was for Baseball. He signed with the St. Louis Browns and demonstrated his talent while he played semi-professional baseball for them. .
Ken passed away on November 10, 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas. Ken is survived by his wife, Laila O. Hinton; Children, Ken Evan Hinton, Laura Ann (Mahmood) Ataee, Shelby Nolen (John) Barbul; Grandchildren, Christopher Bryan Ataee and Margaret Louise Ataee; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Sonja Kay (Neal) Norton; brother, Terry Layne Hinton; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas.
Ken loved surprising his spouses and family members, getting a thrill out of surprising someone he loved with a detail or meaningful gift. Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed making others laugh, often telling jokes and sharing many laughs along family. His family and friends will cherish memories of watching old westerns, family gathering and his stories.

Ken Nolen Hinton, 81, of Hurst, Texas was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 10, 2016. Ken was born in Arbela, Texas on January 22, 1935 to parents, William and Reber May Hinton. Both his parents were teachers, and they moved often during his youth. Ken always showed a love and talent for sports, but his true passion was for Baseball.
