Loyd spent most of his life in the DFW area, where he retired from Bell Helicopter after 40+ years of employment. He was an avid hunter, bowler and could shoot a mean game of pool. He eventually moved to Granbury, TX, where he spent most of his time with his son, Rick, oftentimes playing pool or watching old westerns. Loyd never slowed down and always had something to do.
Loyd is survived by his son, Richard Rooks and daughter-in-law, Deanna Rooks of Granbury, TX;
Grandchildren, Pamela Brubaker and wife Lori, Michele Carter and husband Troy and Autumn Rooks; Great grandchildren, Ayden Evans-Rooks, Willow Carter and Keegan Carter.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Rooks; mother, Elizabeth Atwood; stepfather, Albert Atwood; sister, Grace Evans; and countless other loved ones.
Loyd will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
