Margaret (Margie) Lynn Duffy, of Colleyville, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at her home on July 15, 2025, at the age of 71. A beloved wife, mother, nana, teacher, and friend, Margie’s warmth and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on May 10, 1954, Margie spent her life pouring love into her family and community. Her greatest joy in life was being a devoted grandmother- nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her grandchildren. She was a natural teacher, both in the classroom at Bransford Elementary and in life, and her gentle, giving spirit made a lasting impression on students and friends alike.
Margie had a deep love for the beach, specifically Sanibel Island, where she found peace and joy. It was there that she would go shelling, nurse a good tan and reminisce with family over dinners at places like the Mucky Duck or Bubble Room while planning their next time to return back. She was a proud and active member of the P.E.O, committed to supporting and encouraging women through education.
Her love language was gift-giving- whether big or small, each gift was given with heart and thoughtfulness. Margie’s kindness was often the first thing people noticed and the one thing they never forgot.
Margie is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Mark Duffy Sr.; her loving children, Megan Carlson (and husband Shane Carlson), Molly Bautista (and husband Ryne Bautista), and Mark Duffy Jr. (and wife Barbara Duffy); her five grandchildren, Presley and Caroline Carlson, Nash and Finley Bautista, and Camden Duffy and a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
A funeral service to honor Margie’s life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, TX. A viewing will begin at 10:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am, and burial at 12:00pm.
Margie’s life was a gift to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
