

Morris Stant Davis passed away on June 1, 2015 in Bedford, TX. He is Preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Bernice Davis; siblings, Minnie Journey, Naomi York, and James Patrick Davis. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Juanita Davis; children, Gary Davis and his wife Debra and Ruby Mae Davis-Chapman and her husband Don Chapman; grandchildren, Angela Fraize and her husband Justyn, Christy Champagne, Don Rogozinski, James Taylor, and Perry Taylor and his wife Amanda; great-grandchildren; Cameron, Carson, Colin, Raegan, Michael, Cristal, Shaun, and Spencer. Morris severed on the USS Starr during WWII which was an attack cargo ship that on February 19, 1945 launched her boats and crew against the beaches of Iwo Jima where he was one of many who witnessed the raising of the US flag and in the following April they delivered equipment and soldiers on the beaches of Okinawa. He severed until the end of the war and returned to Texas (San Antonio) where he met and married Juanita Amos. From San Antonio they moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico where he served as part of the US Security for what was known as the Atomic city where the Atomic Bombs were developed. He later returned to San Antonio to work for the U.S. General Services Administration at Fort Sam Houston and then moved to Irving, Texas where he continued to work for the GSA retiring as the Southwest Director of the Investigative Division of the US General Services Administration.
