Ms. Nelladean Greene

April 29, 1926 – January 20, 2023 Nelladean Greene, age 96, of Grapevine died January 20, 2023, in Grapevine of natural causes. She will be remembered as a kindhearted, spirited, loving wife, mother, and Nana. Visitation will be January 24th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 25th at 11:00am at First Baptist Church Grapevine with Frank Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Colleyville at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery. Nelladean was born on April 29, 1926, in Collinsville, Texas to William and Sarrah Elizabeth Willingham Cardwell and was one of 12 children. She married Charlie Greene on January 29, 1944, in Marietta, Oklahoma. Nelladean worked at Taylor Publishing and retired after 14 years. It wasn’t long after her retirement before she found her true passion as a caregiver. In 1978 she went to work at Grapevine hospital as a physical therapist. After 13 years, she retired from the hospital and started taking care of many friends and family members. She was active in her church teaching Sunday school, a member of the Red Hats Society, volunteered at nursing homes, assisted a cervical palsy student at UNT taking her to and from class, vacationing, and cherished spending time with her great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Hurst and husband George of Grapevine. She has 2 grandchildren, Hayes Hurst and wife Krista of Ponder and Sarrah Hurst Brazell and husband Don of Argyle. 4 great grandchildren Taylor Hurst, Kailey Hurst, Karlie Brazell and Brooke Brazell as well as extended family and friends. Her welcome into heaven is joyous as Nelladean is preceded in death by her parents and 7 brothers and 4 sisters as well as extended family and friends. The family suggests that memorials be made to Christ’s Haven for Children at 4200 Keller-Haslet Rd, Keller, TX 76244-8007.
