

Patricia Ann Hawkins was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Patricia will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
She was the daughter of James and Gladys Hisle.
Patricia was raised with one brother Jim. Patricia was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her brother. She and her brother experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
In 1946 Patricia exchanged wedding vows with Claude M. Hawkins. Empathic and loyal, Patricia was committed to making her new family happy.
Patricia worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Patricia was blessed with one daughter, Donna, and three sons, Jim, Rick, and Randy.
Fortunately, Patricia enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Patricia worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. She was employed for 20 years with Montgomery Ward and 20 years with Xerox. Patricia always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Patricia enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. She loved to knit and made baby garments especially for babies at area hospitals. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Patricia’s faith was important to her. She was a charter member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Bedford, Texas. During that time, she was a very active member.
Patricia passed away on April 19, 2016 in Bedford, Texas. She is survived by her sons, Jim Hawkins and wife, Leah, Rick Hawkins and wife, Beverly; third son, Randy Bertman; son-in-law, Bob Griffin; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Patricia was laid to rest in the Court of Columns in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Simply stated, Patricia was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Patricia leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Patricia Ann Hawkins.

Patricia Ann Lewis Hawkins, 92, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home with interment to follow. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Patricia. Patricia was born June 5, 1923, in Kansas City, Kan., to James Lewis and Gladys Hisle Lewis. She married Claude M. Hawkins in 1946. Their first son Jim was born in 1947, followed by their daughter, Donna, in 1951 and youngest son, Rick, in 1955. Patricia began her career with Montgomery Ward where she worked for 20 years before beginning another 20-year career with Xerox. She was a charter member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Bedford where she was a very active member. She loved to knit and made baby garments especially for babies at area hospitals. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Lewis; husband of 59 years, Claude M. Hawkins; and daughter, Donna. Survivors: Sons, Jim Hawkins and wife, Leah, Rick Hawkins and wife, Beverly; third son, Randy Bertman; son-in-law, Bob Griffin; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
