I was so shocked to learn about Patti's death.   She has been my insurance representative for the last few years at State of Texas employment in Sherman,  and I have the privilege to call her 'my friend'.  We shared many stories together, as our lives were so alike.  I emphasized I may want to do her type of job as I am also retired with State Employment and she advised me she was retired with TRS and decided to do this job and help people.    She is only 6 years older than me.   She has helped me,  as I had helped her in her preparation for her meetings with our agency personnel.  I actually walked her to her car on 03-29-23 after her scheduled meeting with our office, and wished her well on her way back home to Colleyville.   Little did I know or have any idea that would be the last trip I would see her off.   So sad, but at least she did not suffer.

Mrs. Rodgers taught me so much in 5th grade that followed and helped me throughout my academic career. Even in college, I always quietly sang the song Mrs. Rogers taught us to recall mean, median, mode, and range. In my own short time as a math teacher, I have continued to teach the song to my own students.

Mrs. Rogers happened to be one of my favorite people.. She was not only my fifth grade math teacher, but my inspiration for a mother. She’s beautiful, funny, charismatic, and intelligent. She went the extra mile for me as I would help  her on the weekends back in grade school. I will miss her nightly instagram likes.  She will be forever in my heart. She is in Gods hands now. One of the most fun and kindest souls, Patti was my sorority sister in Alpha Chi Omega at UH. She always had a smile. I hadn't seen her in a long while but as I read through some of the comments, I smiled because she touched many hearts throughout her life, as she did for her sorority sisters. Blessings to her family and friends.

We met Patti and Scot in about 1997 through mutual friends. A few years later Patti taught our oldest son 5th grade math at Bransford, and then our youngest son. Over the years we attended dinners, birthdays, NYEs with the Rogers. Patti was always there to support and celebrate the accomplishments of our sons as they grew up, today 31 and 29. Patti lit up every room she was in, was so sweet, caring and fun.  Morgan and Madison, we all loved your mother, she was the absolute best! Scot we are here for anything. We all were blessed to of known her, she is a beautiful soul. 


Patti and I met when our daughters, Morgan and Katy, started preschool in the 2s at TCJC Children’s Center. As the girls grew up, we shared so many fun times together  - Girl Scout activities, Christmas shopping trips to Spring, GHS tailgating, GHS Fillies competitions in San Antonio and Orlando, Disney World. Patti was always the life of the party! But she was also one of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever met. 
My heart breaks for Scot, Morgan, Madison and her beautiful grandchildren. She will be missed and we will all have a special place in our hearts for her. 


Wow!! Such a GREAT person!! Patti helped me address my insurance needs and 10 years later she would call me or I would call her to check-in every so often and we would talk for an hour or so. Nothing but laughs and jokes. Wow. Loved her like a best friend!!

Mrs. Rogers was my 5th grade homeroom teacher at Bransford Elementary school many years ago. She kept up with me long after I left her class, sending me handwritten cards to congratulate me on achievements and encourage me throughout high school. She was such a wonderful, loving person and I am eternally grateful for the time I had with her. She was absolutely radiant when I asked her to attend the GCISD academic recognition banquet with me as the most influential teacher I ever had when I graduated from GHS. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing and will never forget her kindness. May she rest in peace. 

One of my favorite memories is of Patti and Scot singing  Jackson as June Carter and Johnny Cash .  You will be deeply missed my dear sweet friend. 

It’s been with a heavy heart that I’ve been reminiscing through past photos and time we had together. Patti was such a wonderful person and I feel blessed to have known her. Continued prayers for her family during this difficult time.

Our sweet Patti was one of our best friends and we loved her so much.  She was so beautiful, spiritual, funny and oh SO MUCH FUN! We will treasure all the wonderful memories traveling, parties, celebrations, dinners out with our friends and living life together. Aunt Patti was such a bright light in my life. I remember all the rodeo visits and trips to Joe T’s over the years. She hosted my high school graduation party with Morgan and Madison which was such a fun time. She was one of those people who was always kind no matter what and her presence was so incredibly bright. 

What a deep shock to the heart when we learned about Patti's passing. Her sweet soul has left a lasting impression on Steve and I which we will feel forever. Our hearts go out to Scot, Morgan, Madison, the precious grandchildren and the whole family who adore Patti. I have so many wonderful memories with Patti... entertaining ourselves by doing nothing or everything while the guys played golf, boating on Lake Travis, shopping and touring the hill country restaurants. Patti and I had a very genuine and honest connection that I appreciated so much coming into this 40-year relationship she had with Steve's family. Her spirit will live on because of the impact she had on so many people and we will honor her forever and pray regularly for her family.

I attended Bransford Elementary and was lucky enough to have Mrs. Rogers as my 5th grade home room teacher in 2006-07. I’m now 27 years old and still consider Mrs. Rogers as the most influential and positive teacher I’ve ever had. Her impact on me has shaped me into a man I’m proud to be and I’m confident she had the same impact on many of her students throughout the years. I’m forever grateful for her and will continue to  carry out the core values she instilled in me. May she rest in peace.

Dave and I have been blessed to become family with the Rogers. Patti was a beautiful, fun, tender, loving light on all our trips from the NW to see our son Ryan, daughter-in-love Madison, and our sweet grand girls. She welcomed us with love and we enjoyed every moment of her hospitality and unending joy. We are forever grateful for the comfort and love she gave to our son and his family. Our hearts are broken over this incredibly deep loss and our love and prayers are with you Ryan, Madison, Emma Kate, Cora, Brent, Morgan, Anna Beth, Wade and Connie.

Patti was my best friend for 44 years.  We enjoyed sharing our lives throughout graduations, weddings, children, grandchildren and the best chats on the phone.  She was always smiling and happy even if she had a "crummy" day.  Patti was beautiful inside and out and looked just like she did in college.  It was always such a treat to get together as we lived in different cities.

Patti was (to name a few) a wonderful sister, wife, mommy and Gammy.  I will so miss hearing about her travels with Connie as they planned to go abroad this summer. It will be tough not to hear Scot say "Hey Patti", Morgan and Madison will miss the daily calls with Mommy who was also their best friend.   I can't imagine how much Anna Beth and Emma-Kate miss her and how much she taught them in such a short time.  My heart aches for Wade and Cora as they are so young.  She had such a positive influence on all of us and made the world a better place.

To Connie, Scot, Morgan and Madison, the days ahead will be hard as we are heartbroken and it's difficult to find comfort.  Please know she was so proud of each of you and our hearts, love and prayers will always be with you.  Jillian, Kevin and I will be here for you and extended family for each day forward.

Sweet Patti Rogers will be missed terribly!  She was the sweetest friend who never had a bad thing to say about anyone.  She was a Steel Magnolia.  Delicate and beautiful as a flower, but strong in her convictions, beliefs, and how she defended her friends and most of all her family!  Our shared love of the Rodeo and the opening ceremonies were a highlight every year.  Our Rodeo dates were never enough.  Until I see you again, enjoy being with Jesus!  I can't wait to join you my friend!

Mrs. Rogers had a way of making every student in her class feel special and valued. I remember one morning when I forgot to put a bow in my hair, and I was feeling pretty down about it. But Mrs. Rogers saw that I was upset and she took the time to help me out. That small gesture made such a big difference in my day, and it's just one of many examples of how caring and thoughtful she was. Mrs. Rogers was the most kind, loving, caring teacher who I was lucky enough to have in 5th grade. I still remember the personified pumpkin she kept in her classroom each year that was so special and funny to all of us! She made sure to make every student feel loved and special. She was definitely one to remember for her kind and loving heart and glowing personality, this is truly a tragic loss that strikes the hearts of many and goes deeper than she could imagine. Thinking of Morgan & Madison during this time - they had such an amazing mother who raised them up to be such great women just like herself. I am proud to be a teacher now and to have had Mrs. Rogers' strong love of teaching as an important influence in my own love of education. 

Mrs. Rogers was our neighbor and my sons math tutor for 3 years.  She gave him the confidence and support to succeed at math in school and was such a beautiful light in our life.  She truly cares for her students and had such a beautiful spirit.  She will be missed.  My deepest condolences to the Rogers family.

My heart is truly broken that the world is now missing one of the kindest souls that I’ve known. Patti and I obviously had tons of memories over the 63 years, but one of my favorites is when we traveled to Italy.  That was such an experience that I will never forget.  Not to mention, that Patti got sick on the plane headed to Rome, and the FA asked her if she was pregnant.  It made her day....but of course, she always looked like she was 30 years old.  I will miss her the rest of my life and I will do everything I can to assist the family.  I love you.  Connie (Patti's sister forever)    And, once again, I am sorry from the bottom of my heart.

Mrs. Rogers was my fifth grade math teacher in 2005. She truly had a passion for her students. She was patient and kind and engaging; just as beautiful on the inside as the outside. I was very lucky to have had her as a teacher. She will be missed by everyone who she came into contact with. Sending big hugs to the Rogers family. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Words cannot express my sadness in learning the news about Patti’s passing. She was a joy and a light in this world and I considered her to be one of my dearest, sweetest friends. From the day I met Patti in 1981 living in the same apts. and teaching 3rd grade together, we were destined to be life-long, cherished friends. We both retired from teaching within 2 years of each other & joined an insurance company & began working together again around 2012 and the laughter and fun continued. Patti was probably the sweetest, most unassuming, funny (without trying!), and  precious friend I have ever known. Anytime my phone rang and I saw it was her, I looked forward to her voice on the other end waiting to tell me s cute “Patti story.” She had the rare, wonderful ability to laugh at herself and ALWAYS shared a story that made me laugh hysterically. The world will never be quite as bright and joyous without my beautiful friend, Patti, here to share it with. But I know God will bring us together again someday and once again, we will be telling tales of getting somehow lost on the golden streets of heaven or saying something erroneous at the wrong time or even just looking at each other and bursting into laughter at the wrong moment… and I know God will understand and forgive us these little indiscretions because he will know it’s just another “Patti moment” borne out of fondness for each other and the laughter we always shared. 
To her family - you know I enjoyed her every second I got to be in her presence but you must also know how how very much she loved all of you and those sweet grandkids. You were all so special to her and she was proud of ALL of you. Although her life was cut short in that moment, we must all go forward knowing she would want you to enjoy your lives and pay homage to her by enjoying the smiles, the laughs, & the wonderful memories of her life. We cannot diminish her memory in sadness & pain but rather follow her example of truly LIVING like Patti!

Patti was a joy to work with and get to know.  She was passionate about helping teachers.  We often talked about our shared love of college sports (especially basketball).  She was a big University of Houston Cougar fan.  I’m going to miss her phenomenal attitude and energy.   God bless and comfort her family.

What an absolute gem of a lady. I worked with Patti for many, many years. Her passion to help the teachers was amazing. That same passion for her friends and family was obvious as well. While I worked with her I also considered her a friend. We had just spoken Monday. We consistently stayed in contact. She lifted me up and I pray I did the same for her. She will be missed so very much. 

Scott, you have no idea who I am probably. I’ve worked at AMBA with Patti for her entire time at AMBA. It was such a delight to answer my phone to hear her questions over the years regarding policies we sold retired teachers. Her southern drawl and sincere thanks for the answers she needed always motivated me. She would always end the call, “what can I do for you.” What a blessing. May the Lord bless you and keep you and give you peace.

O can not express my heartbreak dear Patti’s passing. I got to know Patti eary on as a friend of her middle sister, Kathy, a classmate of mine.(RHS ‘73). Since she was 5 years younger than Kathy I only knew her the Little Sister. 

But twenty -six years later I went to my daughter’s Meet-the Teacher night and I met her 5th grade teacher, a Mrs. Rogers. I didn’t know Mrs. Rogers but she had assembled a bulletin-board about her past. As I was looking at it, a picture titled “My house where I grew up”, I immediately knew it was “The Mayberry House” on Granada where I threw newspapers as a little boy.  I approached Mrs. Roger and said,  “Are you Little Patti Mayberry all grown up ?” She smiled that beautiful smile and nodded her head YES. 

She one my daughter’s best teachers ever and gave Clara the best gift ever, the confidence to be a smart, productive student.  Our hearts and prayers go out to The Rogers and The Mayberry families. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

I had Mrs Roger's for Homeroom in 5th grade. She always had a bright welcoming smile and made someone (me ) who didn't always feel included and was always anxious be it from home , school, peers wherever feel better. This is so sad to hear. I loved being in her class. Prayers for her family. 

What an amazing teacher. We were all blessed to have her in our lives! 
I still remember and use all the fun activities from her 5th grade class with my own students today. She was kind, full of Grace, and challenged her students in the greatest of ways. Thinking of you as we go back to school in Tennessee, Mrs Rogers!

Mrs. Rogers was, hands down, my favorite teacher of all time! She took this ragged 4th grader in the 80s and made me feel seen, loved, and cherished! I’ll always remember how she personally connected with us; I knew her 1st name, that she loved peanut M$Ms and Dr Pepper, and she was trying to have a baby! I still make my cursive capital Ps just like her!!! Her example has inspired me for over 20 years in my own classrooms. May our loving God bless her friends and family during this time of mourning.

Oh, Patti Rogers, I am so sad about all of this.  How could this happen!  We had so many fun times during our days together at Smithfield and Green Valley!  Our Keno nights were always amusing as were our trips to Canton…so many fond memories!

Patti is a saint.  I don't know how my son convinced her and Scot to share Morgan with them.  Brent isn't the easiest to be around and I know his choice of words drove her crazy.  Despite that, she loved him.  Anna Beth made us both grandparents. Patti took her “Gammy” statue to rockstar level.  I’m in awe of how she inspired Anna Beth and Emma Kate.  I know this world is a better place because of Patti. 

Mrs Rogers was my 4th grade teacher in 1984. She was the nicest woman you could ever meet and truly cared about her students. She definitely left an impression on me and countless others that will never be forgotten.  My sincerest condolences go out to her family. RIP Mrs. Rogers.  

Mrs Rogers was one of my teachers at W.A. Porter Elementary and one of my most favorite! That was many years ago, as I am almost 48 years old now. She was a wonderful person and No Nonsense for sure. Will never forget Patti and I discussing text messaging. At the time I thought it was dumb and not worth the cost. She of course told me it was a vital tool for my teacher wife to communicate and express her feelings. And Patti was definitely right on this.
