Raymond Carter Roane

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Anne “Nancy” Pehrkon Roane and his 3 devoted daughters: Carol, Barbara and Nannette. Ray and Nancy were married on January 25, 1956 in San Antonio, TX. He loved and was deeply loved by his family: Tim and Carol Drummond and their children Jessica (husband Kevin Hageland, son Brandon) and William (wife Katie, children Allie, Becca and Cooper), Peter and Barbara Drolet and their children Matthew (children Ava, Peyton and Brooke) and Phillip (wife Samantha, children Brock, Scarlet, Paisley, Bella), and Richard and Nannette Kimbrell and their children Aubrey Poole Kimbrell (fiancé Andrew Adamson) Cody (wife Beth, son, Nolan), Coyt (wife Hannah, daughter, Caisley), Claire (fiancé, Justin Malik) and Cade Kimbrell.

Ray was born on August 30, 1934 in San Antonio, TX. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor’s of Business administration. After graduation, Ray served in the US Army and obtained the rank of captain.

Following his time in service, Raymond worked for Texas Electric Service Co and later retired from Bell Helicopter after 33 years. After retirement, Ray and Nancy spent time adventuring together all over the world and building memories with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Raymond enjoyed running, traveling, hunting and fishing. His family and friends will always remember him as a strong, kind, humble, and giving man that has left a legacy of leadership for his children and their families.

A celebration of life for Raymond will be held on Friday, June, 24, 2022 at 3:00pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
