

Richard Eugene Keaton Sr. was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Gene will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Bryan and Harriette Keaton.
Gene was raised with one brother, J.B. and three sisters, Betty, Martha, and Zella. Gene was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings shared many life experiences over the years.
Gene enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Gene was able to manage the balancing act. After World War II Gene attended Oklahoma University, where he studied engineering, this led to a career in the aerospace industry.
Empathic and loyal, Gene was committed to making his new family happy.
Gene worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Gene was blessed with two daughters, Judi and Elizabeth and one son, Richard. Another blessing for Gene was the gift of 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Stephaney, Stacy, Terri, Lindsey, Rachel, Kaitlin, Travis, Eric, Riley, Emily, Samuella, Sadie, Seth, Samantha, Austin, Liam, Cameron, Evelyn, Aubrey, and Caroline.
Fortunately, Gene enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Gene worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. Throughout his early career he worked on many U. S. Defense projects. In 1972 Gene established H&K Pump Sales and Service in Dallas, Texas. Where he and Charlotte worked tirelessly and blessed many family and friends. .
In 1945 Gene proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in the Aluetian Islands with the 1584th Engineer Service Company. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Gene passed away on August 22, 2016 in Euless, Texas. He is survived by hiswife of 68 years Charlotte Keaton, children; Judi Keath, Richard E Keaton Jr., and Elizabeth Powell, husband Tim, grandchildren; Stephaney Zoe, husband Robert Margetts, Stacy, husband Shawn Snyder, Terri Turner, Lindsey, husband Eric Long, Rachel Powell and Kaitlin Powell, great-grandchildren; Travis Margetts, Eric Ludiker, Riley Ludiker, Emily Nichols, Samuella Snyder, Sadie Snyder, Seth Snyder, Samantha Nichols, Austin Nichols, Liam Turner, Cameron Turner, Evelyn Anderson, Aubrey Long and Caroline Long, sisters; Martha Hollaman and Zella Zigan. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Gene was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Simply stated, Gene was an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Gene leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Richard Eugene Keaton Sr.

Gene was born on December 30, 1926 to Bryan and Harriette Keaton in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. In 1945 Gene proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in the Aluetian Islands with the 1584th Engineer Service Company. After World War II Gene attended Oklahoma University, where he studied engineering, this led to a career in the aerospace industry. Those preceding Gene in death are his parents, brother, J.B. Keaton Jr., sister Betty Grable and grandson Matthew Keaton Powell.

Keaton Jr., and Elizabeth Powell, husband Tim, grandchildren; Stephaney Zoe, husband Robert Margetts, Stacy, husband Shawn Snyder, Terri Turner, Lindsey, husband Eric Long, Rachel Powell and Kaitlin Powell, great-grandchildren; Travis Margetts, Eric Ludiker, Riley Ludiker, Emily Nichols, Samuella Snyder, Sadie Snyder, Seth Snyder, Samantha Nichols, Austin Nichols, Liam Turner, Cameron Turner, Evelyn Anderson, Aubrey Long and Caroline Long, sisters; Martha Hollaman and Zella Zigan.
