

Robert Orrin Bowland (Bob) passed away August 20, 2015 at the tender age of 67 after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Bob's life at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Memorials:In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation(http://www.themmrf.org/)or to Greyhound Rescue (http://www.greyrescue.com/). Bob is survived by his beloved wife Donna of 45 years, daughter Kelly, son Andy & his wife Liz, and grandchildren Connor, Oliver, and Silas. Bob grew up in southern California, surfing, scuba diving, and piloting Glider planes. He attended Texas Christian University where he was active in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and met Donna. Bob was an executive with Chrysler, a position he loved and which took him all over the world. Based in Grosse Pointe, MI for 24 years, Bob loved sailing at Crescent Sail Yacht Club, where he was Commodore. CSYC was a second home and a great love of his. Bob had many hobbies throughout his life, including restoring cars; most recently a 1983 Porsche 911SC. Bob greatly loved all animals, wild or domestic, and shared his wonderful life with many. Bob had a great sense of humor which infused his personality; always with a good story, joke, and a smile. He loved spending time with his kids & grandsons.
