

Rose Mary (Babl) Schmitz, 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many passed away Friday, Feb 13, 2015 in Bedford, Texas. Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb 21, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 Harwood Road, Bedford, Texas. Interment: Following Mass at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park,5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX. Visitation: Will be held 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Vigil at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb 20, at Bluebonnet Hills Chapel. Rose Mary was born in a farm house in Emmet, NE, on June 28, 1936 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Janzing) Babl. She was a 1954 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, in O’Neill, NE. Rose Mary married her high school sweetheart, James H. Schmitz on Sept. 12, 1956 in Emmet, NE. They were blessed with six children. She retired from the First State Bank of Bedford (Wells Fargo) after 40 plus years in the banking industry. Her greatest role as a grandmother was attending all the extracurricular activities of her 15 grandchildren. Her hobby of cross-stitching created beautiful heirloom pieces of art. Survivors – Sons: Steven Schmitz and wife Kathy of Keller TX; Mark Schmitz of Macon GA; Dan Schmitz of Grand Prairie, TX. Daughters: Catherine Adams and husband Bryan of Hurst TX; Shirley Pierce and husband Brian of McKinney, TX. Brother: Wendell Babl and wife Ramona. Sisters: Margaret Dusatko; Cecelia Bazelman and husband Ben; all from O’Neill NE. Many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family and friends. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to her15 grandchildren: Ryan Schmitz and wife Chandler, Audrey Schmitz; Christopher Schmitz, Elliott Schmitz and wife Jennifer, Brooke Schmitz, Marah Kate Schmitz, Casey Schmitz, Michaela Schmitz; Phillip Schmitz; Bradley Adams, Nathaniel Adams, and Samuel Adams; Chad Pierce, Chase Pierce, and Cody Pierce. And two great-grand children to be born this year. She was preceded in death by husband James H. Schmitz; son Ronald W. Schmitz; her parents; brother Gary Babl; and sister Rita Engler.
