Shirley was born in 1948 to her parents Leroy and Ingeborg Coffman. She married John Wesley Mounce in 1967. She had twin sons John Wesley Mounce IV and Erich Lesley Mounce in 1968. She lived in Hurst, TX then moved to Burleson Texas. Then in 1977 moved to Mississippi for a year. Then went on an adventure which changed all our lives forever. In 1978 we moved to Kuwait!
Moving to Kuwait was a really hard transition. Shirley adapted well to being a blond, blue eyes woman in a Muslim country. She carved out an amazing story. With nothing to do in a male-dominated society, Shirley was able to get into banking at BKME, Bank of Kuwait in the Middle East. There she helped bring American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and the ATM system to Kuwait. She went on to Gulf bank shortly after. Like a free agent, all of the banks wanted her. She was taken hostage when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Thanks to the help of a good friend that was a cousin of the royal family, came back after he got his family out and rescued her. She was one of the first people back. After her ordeal, Shirley went back to Kuwait when the airport opened because they needed her help with the banking system. She had a business in Kuwait called Shirley’s kitchen. Where she baked banana breads, pies, and southern home cooking.
Shirley cared for everybody, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was a strong compassionate beautiful woman who is missed by her family very much. She has three grandsons, Philip Logan Mounce, who goes by Logan, Nicholas Treyton Mounce, and Weston Owen Mounce. She loved her home the most that’s why she never wanted to go to a care facility.
She cared about everybody and she loved shopping.
