

Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Hurst, 521 W. Pipeline, Hurst. Interment: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville.
Memorials: Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Fort Worth or to First United Methodist Church of Hurst.
Stan was born in Washington, D.C., on March 12, 1934, and raised in Fort Worth. He was a graduate of Polytechnic High School where he met his future wife and lifelong partner, Bobbie Jo Hardwick, with whom he went on to raise four children while living in Hurst. Stan and Bobbie celebrated 62 years of marriage in August. Stan made a career in the aerospace industry with positions in engineering and quality at General Dynamics and later Bell Helicopter, from which he retired in 1992 after 30 years of service. Key positions at Bell included project engineer on the model 214 and director of product assurance during development of the V-22 Osprey. He also continued his formal education during his career by earning an MBA from the University of Dallas.
Stan enjoyed cars, travel, carpentry, the Dallas Cowboys, volunteering at his church and just spending time with his family. Memorable family vacations included visits to Yellowstone, Estes Park, the Grand Canyon and Big Bend, among many others.
Stan was preceded in death by his father, Barton; his mother, Margie; and his niece, Laura Deason.
Survivors: His wife, Bobbie; sons, David and Paul; daughters, Carol and Deborah and her husband, Eric Neill; grandchildren, Kyle Neill and Scott Neill and his wife, Lena; sister, Margie Deason and her husband, Charles; and nephew, Mark Deason.
