Tom was born on June 11, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to Jean Wimberly and George H. “Bill” Harrison. He served his country in the Vietnam War as a communications specialist in the 1st Infantry Division, the Big Red One. As a 4th generation expert in the elevator industry, his 47-year career spanned all aspects of the trade, from highly skilled technician to business owner, and inventor of patents for safety devices.
Tom lived out his faith in Christ through his compassion and generosity to those in need, be they strangers or friends. His greatest source of pride was his family who adored his humor and heart. He shared this life with his beloved wife of 46 years, Patricia Draper Harrison, and four children, including daughter Julie Harrison Skaggs, wife of Micheal Skaggs, along with their daughters Morgan, Madison, and Kenzie (Burleson, Texas); son Collin Joel Harrison and his wife Sabrina, along with their children Hanna, Olivia, Norah, and William Thomas (Flower Mound, Texas); daughter Leslie Harrison Pollard, wife of Justin Pollard, along with children Allyson and Knox (Lewisville, Texas); and son Luke David Harrison and his wife Angie, along with their sons Levi and Locke (Hurst, Texas). Tom is survived and deeply loved by his mother, Jean Hope (Forest, Texas) and siblings Bill Harrison, (Bedford, Texas), Jack Harrison, (Bedford, Texas), Judy Hopper, (Wells, Texas), Ricky Hope, (Tomball, Texas), Randy Hope (Lufkin, Texas), Mike Harrison (Dallas, Texas), and Janet Conner (Richardson, Texas). Tom was preceded in death by his father George H. “Bill” Harrison and stepfather Walter Hope. Tom will also be deeply missed by countless other family members and friends. He was one of a kind and the world will never be the same.
