Vernon Wayne Bingham

Vernon Bingham, 80, passed away on August 12, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Faye and Bob Bingham of Brownfield; his sister, Delores Paxton; and his brother, Bobby Bingham. Vernon is survived by his brother, Gaylon Bingham of Brownfield, and his sister, Sandra, and her husband, Terry Davis, of Brownfield.

He was born in Stephenville but spent most of his life in the Mid-Cities area of North Texas, where he built a legacy as a faithful Christian family man, educator, coach, and mentor.

Vernon was married for 59 years to the love of his life, Trish Bingham. He was the proud father of four beloved children: Tracye Bingham and Laura Farley, both of McKinney; Trina and Christian Scott of Lantana; Teresa and Corey Huffman of Stephenville; and Todd and Nancy Bingham of Grapevine. Vernon was the grandfather of seven cherished grandchildren who were the joy of his life: Mark Vaughan, Kenzie Vaughan, Ryan Vaughan, Carter Huffman, Blake Bingham, Ella Bingham, and Cora Scott. He is also remembered by many other family members and friends.

Vernon dedicated his life to God, his family, teaching, coaching, and inspiring others. For 40 years, he coached and taught in Texas schools, shaping countless students and athletes through his wisdom, discipline, and compassion. More than 25 of those years were in H-E-B ISD. His quiet strength and steady guidance left an incredible mark on everyone he met. Though reserved, when Vernon spoke, his words carried meaning, encouragement, and love. He was always an educator at heart, offering wisdom and support to family, friends, and anyone in need.

A man of deep faith, Vernon loved the Lord and raised his family to do the same. His life reflected his values—faith, integrity, service, and love—and his legacy will continue through his family and the many lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to 6 Stones.

A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, August 20 from 6 to 8pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville- 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034

The celebration of life services will be on Thursday August 21 at 2pm at First Baptist Church of Hurst- 1801 Norwood Dr., Hurst, TX 76054
