Mr. Wilburn Verdell Draper

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., January 30th at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, TX. Officiating will be Rev. Dave Roever. Visitation is from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday, January 29th. Interment at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park will immediately follow the funeral.

Wilburn was born 8 July 1942 in Boswell, OK to Verdell and Helen (Kennedy) Draper. The family settled in Lake Worth, TX in the 1950s. Wilburn graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1960. After graduation, he worked as a carpenter while studying drafting at night. He transitioned to aircraft design engineering in the late 1960s and spent the next 50 years as a private contractor to a myriad of government and commercial projects. Highlights of Wilburn's career include work on the F117 Stealth Fighter as well as the B1 and B2 Bombers.

He is survived by his son, William David Draper and wife, Karen, of Oologah, OK,

and daughter, Kellee Kirkpatrick and husband, Kevin,of Boerne, TX; granddaughters, Alyson Welborn of San Antonio and Maddie Welborn of Round Rock; great grandchildren, Leila and Braxton Pitts; sister, Brenda Roever; brother-in-law, David Roever; brother-in-law, Travis Williams, both of Fort Worth; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins,and loving friends.

Wilburn was preceded in death by his wife, Linda(Pauler) Draper, parents, Verdell and Helen Draper, and sister, Willie Williams and niece Sheryl Willams.
