Charles Maurice Bishop

Charles Maurice "Buddy" Bishop, age 75, of Collierville, Tennessee went to be with our Lord on August 16, 2021 while at home. He was born August 19, 1945 in Memphis to Charlie and Lucy Bishop. A proud Southerner and American patriot, Charles served in the United States Marine Corps during and after the Vietnam Conflict. Among some of the places he visited and served during his tours of duty were Spain, Cuba, Greece and a year in the Mediterranean Sea. After the Marines, from 1978 until his retirement in 2006, Charles made his career at Carrier both on the factory floor and later as a quality control engineer after having put himself through college. He married his loving wife, Charlotte, in 1983 and they have two daughters. He was a Southern Baptist who loved our Lord. His hobbies included reading, fishing, deer hunting in the river bottoms of Fayette County with friends and family, computers and politics. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lucy Bishop. Charles is survived by his wife; Charlotte, his sister; Sheila (Charles), daughters; Crystal (Alan), Carolyn (Will) and three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Gary Sinise Foundation for Wounded Veterans.
