Christine Holly Hughes

Holly Cordill Hughes, 56, of Collierville, TN, passed away on March 23, 2023. She was born to Olie and Maxine Cordill in Nashville, TN, on 12/20/66. Holly grew up in Collierville, TN, with her two sisters, Jolie and Angie, having fun with cousins, the neighborhood, school, and church friends. She attended Collierville Middle and High Schools (class of 1985) and developed lifelong friendships. Holly fondly recalled her idyllic childhood experience and surroundings, which she returned to later in life. Swimming, horseback riding with her sisters, exploring the neighbor's woods, and roller skating made for summertime adventures that Holly cherished.

Holly’s commitment to her faith guided her relationships, love, and life. She married and became a mother to two intelligent, beautiful daughters, Brianna and Nicole. Holly’s devotion to her daughters and family was evident to all that knew her. Her proudest times with her family were harmonizing with her daughters on car trips, traveling, and heading to the “costume trunk” to dress up and act out her daughters’ favorite skits. Holly’s favorite color was blue, and she enjoyed reminiscing with friends, congregation events, and one-of-a-kind family trips, including snorkeling, waterfall climbing, and whale watching.

In addition to being a devoted friend and mother, Holly was a holistic healer and enjoyed helping people. Holly’s physical beauty was undeniable, and her positive outlook and spirit made her approachable and engaging.

Holly is survived by her two daughters, Marli Brianna Hughes and Rebecca Nicole Hughes; her mother, Maxine Jo Bowker; her father, Olie James Cordill; her sisters, Jolie Cordill Albee and Angela Mil Cordill (Klug); her nephews, Griffin Reed Albee and Benjamin Keaton Albee, many extended family members and dear friends

In remembrance and honor of Holly, the family asks that you speak openly and honestly with your loved ones and friends. Ask them how they are - really ask and listen. Tell them how you are, be honest - unencumbered by what you think they may think - and tell them how you feel about them. It is our connections that make life rich.
