Claire Burrows Hardy

Claire Burrows Hardy, 69, of Collierville died March 4, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Collierville. Mrs. Hardy grew up in Cordova, and enjoyed gardening, travelling, and quilting. She attended Germantown High School, and was an avid University of Memphis fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Elder Burrows and Nell Harris Burrows, and also her brother, Sidney Burrows. Survivors include her husband, Hugh E. Hardy, Sr.; five children, Michele Whitehead, Cydney Calhoun, Leisa Wentworth, Mike Hardy, and Hugh Hardy, Jr.; and eight grandchildren, Don Whitehead, Griffin Whitehead, Blain Whitehead, Adam Hardy, Kyle Hardy, Tyler Calhoun, Peri Wentworth, and Shea Wentworth; and one sister, Anne B. Strickland. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Collierville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial following in Magnolia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House.
