

With heavy hearts ad deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Darlene Marie Clifton on July 5, 2025, at the age of 95. Born in Ft. Collins, CO, on June 19,1930, Darlene lived a life marked by unwavering faith, boundless love and quiet strength.
Darlene was the beloved wife of the late Bill Clifton and the devoted mother of Billy and Dave Clifton, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving children, Susan, Dan and Alan (Marcia) Clifton; 7 cherished grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren who brought her joy and 3 great-great-great she adored.
One of 4 siblings, Darlene shared a deep connection with her late twin sister, Arlene Ahlbrandt, and was also preceded in death by her brothers, L. Wesley and J.W.(Jr) Briggs.
A devout Catholic and proud member of Beta Sigma Phi, Darlene’s life was guided by faith, service and an unshakable devotion to family. She helped manage the family-owned office building with grace and dedication. After the sale of the family business, she found a new and fulfilling role as a house director for sorority houses at both CSU and CU. In this role, she continued to offer guidance, care and quiet strength-becoming a steady presence and mentor to many young women.
She will be remembered for her giving heart and helping hands. Whether crocheting thoughtful gifts, offering comfort, or simply being there, Darlene loved people. She loved to travel, never losing her sense of wonder and adventure.
Strong, loving and selfless to the very end, Darlene leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, resilience and faith-one that will continue through her family and the countless lives she touched.
