Dorothy Marie Bertasi

Dorothy Marie (Para) Bertasi, 98, passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of the family she cherished above all else. A devoted wife to her beloved Tony and a deeply loving mother, Dorothy lived a life defined by generosity, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Her Catholic faith was central to her life. She found comfort and peace in praying the rosary and often spoke with quiet joy about her anticipation of being reunited with those she loved who had gone before her.

Dorothy had a remarkable gift for making others feel cared for and at home. From comforting her children through scraped knees and bad dreams to hosting countless family gatherings, she gave endlessly and without complaint. She delighted in cooking, gardening, traveling, and caring for others - always placing the needs of her family before her own.

Her marriage to Tony was a beautiful example of love and partnership, and together they created a home filled with faith, laughter and enduring memories. Dorothy's greatest legacy is the family she nurtured-bound together by love, tradition, and gratitude for all she gave.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, quiet strength, and steadfast faith. She is deeply loved, profoundly missed, and now rests in the loving arms of Jesus.

Those that have predeceased her include her husband of 48 years, Anthony P. Bertasi Sr., her sister, Mary Frances Mensi and her parents Mary Koch Para and Joseph Dewey Para. Those who are still left behind include her children, Judy B Masserano and her husband John, Anthony P Bertasi, Jr. and his wife Patty, Raymond L Bertasi and his wife Leslie and Barbara B Diaz and her husband Manny. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will take place on January 3rd at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel in Germantown, TN. There will be a visitation beginning at 12:00 followed by the Holy Mass at 12:30. Burial will be in Memorial Park and there will be a reception afterwards at the Memphis Botanic Gardens.
