Dorothy Jordan Kirk

Dorothy (Dottie) Elizabeth Jordan Davis Kirk went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2025. Dottie was born on January 9, 1931 in Ashland, Mississippi to Russell Odis Jordan and Glennie Mae Mathis Jordan. Dottie leaves behind her son Jerry Jordan Davis (Susan), three grandchildren, Todd Bradley Davis (Dawn), Austin Jordan Davis (Danielle), and William Andrew Davis, four great grandchildren (Jordan Davis, Brooke Davis, Tristen Davis, and Gracie Davis), and one great-great grandchild (Tripp Davis). She is preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Lafayette Davis and Leonard Buford Kirk, her son, Terry Edward Davis, her sister, Tiny Mae Jordan Melton and her brother, Boyce Jordan.

Dottie was proud of her career as a Liability Supervisor at Continental Insurance Company. She loved her job and the many friends she had at work.

She was kind and gracious to everyone she met and loved her family with all of her heart. She was a member of Germantown Baptist Church for 48 years. She loved to sing in the choir, go to Sunday School, and go on church trips with her friends from the Merrymakers Group. Her faith never wavered through the trials and tribulations of her life. She appreciated every day of her life and welcomed the end as well.

She loved to garden and work in her yard. Cooking was a joy to her, and she was an excellent cook. She loved the Lord and her family most of all. She was always content with the simple things in life and never wanted more.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Germantown Baptist Church 9450 Poplar Ave. Germantown, TN 38139.
