

James Earl Morrison, 80, of Collierville, passed from this life Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Baptist Reynold’s Hospice House. Mr. Morrison was born April 27, 1935 in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late Sam and Audrey Cargill Morrison. He served in the U. S. Air Force and then served in the U. S. Navy and retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Morrison was a Electronics Teacher with Northwest Community College, retired from the Xerox Corporation, loved math and served as a Math Tutor, studied Air Conditioning and acquired his A/C License. He was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church and went on several mission trips to Arizona, loved spending time with family and friends and helping people with raking leaves, auto repairs, air conditioning and painting houses. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan especially football and softball. Having been a softball pitcher in the Navy he taught his youngest granddaughter to throw a screwball and was her biggest fan. Mr. Morrison is survived by a daughter, Joan Willwerth (Joe); a son, Steve Morrison (Pam); a son in law, Jim Clark; five grandchildren, Rachell Liddell (Eric), Carrie Baker (Adam), Casey Willwerth, Jonathan Clark, Daniel Clark and one great grandson, Jackson Liddell. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jaqueline Teresa Minnock Morrison, a daughter, Judy Clark and his grandparents Larce and Betty Kornegy. Funeral Services will be 11:00am Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Collierville First Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00am. Burial will be 10:00am Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Baptist Reynold’s Hospice House.
