Joe A. Chester

Joe Alan Chester 59 of Collierville passed away July 18, 2014 at Germantown Methodist Hospital. He graduated from Katy High School in Katy, TX in 1973, where he was a member of the National Merit Honor Society. Upon completion of high school he attended Texas A&M University, College Station, TX where he graduated with honors in 1978. He was an avid fisherman and wood worker and was always quick with a joke. He retired from Fed-Ex after a 35 year career.

He is predeceased by his father Everett Chester and his step-father Floyd Haskett. He is survived by his wife Kim Chester; son, Josh Chester; mother Juanita Haskett; sisters, Janet Matthews, Joyce (Butch) Waggoner, and Sondra Mechaley; brothers Jim (Kay) Chester, Floyd (Elaine) Haskett, Bill (Cindy) Haskett and Martin (Ellen) Haskett and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday July 25, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Collierville Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday July 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Collierville Funeral Home with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask memorials be made to Tails of Hope Dog Rescue or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
