Joe L. Thompson

Joe L. Thompson, 88, went to join his Lord and Savior December 6, 2021. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Thompson enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Collierville United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruby Thompson, and one brother, Donald William Thompson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 65 years, Frances Renegar Thompson; daughters, Deborah Thompson, Candy Staggs (David), Tammy Boehm (Mike); grandchildren, Ryan Staggs (Leigh Anne), Matt Boehm (Candace), Amanda Staggs and Ashley Boehm; two great-grandchildren, Win Staggs and A.J. Staggs. He was loved by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday December 10, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Collierville United Methodist Church, 454 W Poplar Avenue, Collierville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mr. Thompson may be offered to Collierville United Methodist Church or Crossroads Youth Choir at Bartlett United Methodist Church.
