

Joseph Franklin Christian, 89, of Collierville, passed peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, June 23, 2015. He was born October 20, 1925 in Cordova, AL to the late Levi and Vera Beatrice Davis Christian. Mr. Christian was a World War II, U. S. Army veteran having served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a graduate of Auburn University and retired from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and later retired as an Consultant for the railroad. He was Methodist in faith, loved to golf, served on Collierville’s Industrial Board and was instrumental in getting the Trains on Collierville’s Town Square. Mr. Christian is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Cole Christian, two daughters; Joy (Doug) Stallings, Nancy Rowe, a son; Joseph Christian, II, four grandsons; Brian (Brandi) Stallings, Kevin (Leslie) Stallings, Matt (Jourdan) Stallings, Brian (Stephanie) Rowe, four great-grandchildren; Adam, Peter, Olivia Rowe and Jodi Leigh Stallings. He was preceded in death by a son in law, William Henry Rowe. Memorials can be made to donor’s choice.
